Vermox suspension:
- Shake the bottle.
- The usual dose for treating threadworms or pinworms is five millilitres of suspension, taken orally as a single dose.
- Your doctor may advise you to take a second dose two weeks later, in case of reinfection.
Vermox tablets:
- For threadworms, take one tablet and swallow it whole or chew it.
- Your doctor may advise you to take a second dose two weeks later in case of reinfection.
If you have another type of common worm infection then your doctor may advise a different dosage. If you have further questions or queries related to the directions of this product speak to your doctor or pharmacist.
Side effects
Not all users of Vermox will experience side effects. However, it is still important to make yourself familiar with the potential reactions in case they do occur. Seek medical attention immediately if your throat or face becomes swollen or you develop hives, blistered skin or a rash as you may be having an allergic reaction.
Common (1 in 10 people or less):
Stomach pain.
Uncommon (1 in 100 people or less):
Diarrhoea, flatulence and stomach discomfort.
Rare (1 in 1,000 people or less):
Rash, hair loss, dizziness, inflammation of the liver and reduced white blood cells.

Taking it with other medicines
During the consultation please inform the doctor if you are taking or have recently taken any medicines, in particular metronidazole and cimetidine. You should also remember to include those that you are able to buy without a prescription, herbal remedies and dietary supplements.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Do not use Vermox if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant.

It is not thought that Vermox will inhibit your capacity to drive or use machines.
